Founded
in 1942, and headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, the
International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP)
is a not-for-profit professional association with 40,000 members
and affiliates, and 700 chapters worldwide. The association works
in partnership with employers to promote excellence. Its members
include administrative assistants, executive secretaries, office
coordinators, information specialists, and related administrative
professionals. Many corporations, educational institutions,
students, and international affiliate organizations also belong to
IAAP.
IAAP
membership benefits include access to research findings, OfficePro®
magazine, discounts on educational products and services, IAAP
Bits and Bytes newsletter, Internet Web Site (www.iaap-hq.org),
service and support from IAAP World Headquarters staff, travel and
insurance discounts, and much more. Members receive discounts on
more than 400 books, video tapes, and other resources on all
aspects of office administration.
Members
of the 600-plus IAAP chapters and international affiliates build
professional networks by attending chapter meetings and serving in
chapter leadership positions. Members can also serve as division,
district, and international officers.
The
Ohio Division is one of five divisions in the Great Lakes
District, and contains 30 individual chapters within the state.
Our purpose is to provide education and training, leadership
development, and networking opportunities for our members. The
Division and its local chapters host a variety of seminars,
conferences, and workshops featuring top speakers throughout the
year.
